Privacy First: No Sign-Up Required
privacy
update
We believe finding your next great read should be simple and private. That's why we've made a significant change to how Similar Book Finder works.
What Changed
Previously, saving books required signing in with Google. We've completely removed that requirement.
Now your saved books are stored locally in your browser - we never see them, and they're never sent to any server unless you explicitly choose to share them.
Why We Made This Change
- Privacy: Your reading preferences are personal. They should stay that way.
- Speed: No network requests means instant saves and loads.
- Simplicity: One less account to create and manage.
Optional Cloud Sync
Want to access your saved books across devices? Simply sign in with Google and your books will sync to the cloud automatically.
- Works both ways: Your local books merge with your cloud library when you sign in
- Always optional: Don't want to sign in? Your books stay safely in your browser
- Seamless: Sign in on any device and your full library is there
The choice is yours - privacy-first local storage by default, with optional cloud sync when you need it.
Your privacy matters to us. Happy reading! 🔒
